Green Tag Event

Have you been waiting for the perfect time to visit buds ‘n bloom? We happen to have wonderful sales at the moment; so how about now? We're calling it the Green Tag Event and it means that everything with a green tag on is currently 50% off! You will find a great variety of products participating in this sale, from vases to paintings to pillows; and you will not want to miss it.

Our Little Shirley Vases are an example of our discounted items. These small, handmade containers were created by Lauren Burman in memory of her grandmother Shirley when she passed away from cancer. This is why part of the proceeds goes towards cancer research.

Pottery was just a creative outlet for Lauren at first but it slowly became a passion. She explains the purpose of Little Shirley’s on the label: “Each vase is unique, elegant, and colorful, just like Shirley. I hope they inspire conversation, foster goodwill, and simply make you smile.”

Please enjoy this video we found of how these cute little vases are made.

Spring plants!

Did you know that you can replant your bulbs after they have dried out?

Many times we prefer to buy live plants instead of fresh flowers; this way we can keep our home looking bright and beautiful a lot longer. However, once they stop blooming and start fading away, we tend to think they have died and start looking for replacements. Well, there’s no need to throw them away! You can save the bulbs and plant them once again so they can bloom for next year.

Potted plants will stop blooming around the end of spring and the beginning of summer. When this happens, simply start watering them less frequently. You will notice the foliage slowly yellowing. Once the leaves start dying, stop watering them altogether and they will turn brown as their foliage naturally dies. When you think they are completely dry, remove them from the pot and separate the leaves from the bulbs. If it’s not easy enough to do so it’s because the plant is not dry enough; wait a few more days and try again. Dust off the bulbs and store them in a cool, dark, and well ventilated place so they can get completely dry. Replant them between September and November, water them thoroughly, and they will bloom again for next spring.

Hyacinth, Tulips, Daffodils and Easter Lilies are some of the spring bulbs you can find right now at buds ‘n bloom. Come and get yours and we will guide you through the replanting process when the time comes!
